I will not defend kasab

Ranchi

Today morning, I was going through a newspaper and was really intrigued to see an article "why I will not defend kasab?" in court. Kasab is the most valuable prisoner of Indian democracy who hit headlines after Mumbai's 26/11.We are a secular ,sovereign state and we have all the good things that may exist in books written in our constitution. We are the most liberal one, the most modest. We know our enemies but our legal system will take years to punish them. We believe in "AUDI ALTERAM PARTEM"(Let the other side be heard) and this applies equally to everyone , be it a street thief aur  Osama. So, Mr.kasab is finding it hard to have a lawyer who can at least stand for him (though in paper only). And that is the sole reason that he is being denied trial. This inhumane person has done a crime that no one can even dream of and still we need a lawyer to take his case (So what, if its in name only, I don’t care!).This is the generosity with which we treat our killers. almost 1 month is going to pass and we haven’t done any real action against Pakistan(the unanimous conspirator of attack). Each one of us know who the culprit is and from where it all has started, we have evidences, we have international support(I think for the first time in history of free India),still we are in our dens. Govt. is just giving it political color and time just flies away. What’s the need of defending a terrorist? We do many things off the record, so, can't we have a dummy lawyer pursue his case? so, that it all gets over soon and we come with a very strong message against those sons of bitches. I stand behind the decision taken by lawyers not to defend that “new face of urban terror”. But , at the same time I want Indian legal system to be honored. so, there should be one to come forward to take this case. Yes! there is some risk involved (as it will give people a chance to act against that lawyer, he won't be able to take this blemish). But there is a way out to this. whosever takes kasab's case, he should take advantage of our democracy. He should have a press conference and make his point clear that he is taking the case just to respect Indian legal system and be provided safety.I appeal to citizens to respect this decision if someone comes forward. This way we shall be able to punish the convict at at the earliest. And believe me that is the need of  the hour. The sooner it gets over, the better it is.!

I'm even surprised that they are thinking of having a trial over this guy. I mean, what will the defendant try to plead? 'Not Guilty'?

Agreed that we are a great democracy and all that blah... but this is seriously stretching it too far.
